Automation
# WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO AUTOMATE A MARINA #
1) Creating a dialogue between the systems and the hardware existing in the port;
2) Centralizing all the information that comes from various sub-hardware-systems that have a common denominator – the customer.
3) Managing all the customer related activities from a unique control panel, thus avoiding system redundancies.
The application naturally adapted to this purpose is the management software.
Through Navis it is possible to manage and control many processes of the port/boatyard company:
# WATER AND POWER DISPENSING COLUMNS #
It is possible to connect the Navis software to the water and power dispensing columns control system in order to keep count of the amounts relating to the prepaid and to the open account. The customer is entered only one time in Navis and still from Navis the badge or the electronic key is released, in order to enable the column.
# VEHICLES ACCESS #
Through Navis it is possible to manage the vehicles access in the port area. The system releases the badge to the customer with which he will enable the barrier system placed at the port entrance. It is possible to allow access to groups of people to one or more parking places only if they are actually available and not already occupied by a vehicle of the same group.
# BERTH OCCUPATION DETECTION #
In each of the countless marinas common is the requirement of an automated identification and positioning of the boats that access the area. Especially in the past years, with the spread of the wireless technologies, a heightened request for the supply of real-time information about the state of occupancy of the spaces and about the movement of the boats within the marina has been found.
Navis pass is a positioning and identification system composed of two devices:
- The land antenna, a reception/transmission and data development unit.
The unit is then connected via Wi-Fi to the management server;
- The active R-fid tag, a transponder that sends the data relating to their own identification and to their own position referring to the ground antennas.
When a boat, equipped with a transponder crosses the gate positioned in proximity to the port access, the system detects it, the updates the mooring plan in real time.
# TOTEM #
Through the totems it is possible to supply customers with countless information relating to the services and to the inland, but above all it is possible to enable a series of services obtained from the Navis management system that allow the check-in and the check-out of the boats also not during office hours, thus speeding the work of the front-office.
# WI-FI #
The customer that accesses Wi-Fi within the port area is the same port customer. It is possible to manage all the activation procedures of the Wi-Fi and of the connection time through the Navis software.
# COMPANY WEBSITE #
Vis provides its own customers with an instrument to publish data always updated, originating from the Navis archives, on the Marina’s website, offering therefore a useful and innovative feature to ship-owners. The services provided are:
- The possibility of publishing the berth availability on the marina website directly from Navis for the related on-line reservation request that will be managed by the operator always remaining inside the software;
- If necessary, the same availability will be published on general dedicated portals;
- Service addressed to the customers of the marina whom, by connecting to the company website and logging in with username and password, will be able to view quotes, their own statement, invoices, etc. – it is also possible to enable the feature of receiving the invoices of the customers or the on-line reservations through the Paypal system - www.paypal.it.
# NAVIS DATA EXPORT #
Navis Data Export represents our application form to interface the first note generated by NAVIS (invoices – credit and payment notes) to various ERP / accounting software.
Through this form the operators can transfer the various accounting documents and payments from NAVIS towards the company accounting software without the need of re-entering the data.
It is possible to enable the system in automated manner or rather through a night download of the data or through an interface that allows monitoring and checking of the data that is being transferred.
