Navis - solution for the management of Marinas and Boatyards

Marina

# FACILITY MANAGEMENT #

For every type of facility, berth, yard and shed, parking places and boxes, housing and commercial units, warehouses, Navis is capable of recording the relating operations for reservations, transit, mooring and lease contracts, sell or long-term assignment (long rent), management delegation, the brokerage and the accommodation.

# CONTRACTS #

The state of a facility is obtained from the contracts and transits that the port administration signs with its own customers. Navis allows the development of three types of contracts, facing all the demands connected to them;

  • Lease and mooring/transit contracts depending on the facility type.
  • Long-term allocation contract (sell), in the period of the public domain grant.
  • Management and/or brokerage delegation, when the Marina takes charge of the control of not directly usable facilities, but already assigned to third parties that intend to put them in use.
Once the mooring contract is entered, Navis proposes a counter value calculated on the basis of the price lists, the category of the berth and the break period. If enabled, the operator has the option to modify the amounts proposed by the software, even applying discounts. For every contract Navis shows the total, the turnover and the balance, giving the possibility to set due dates for the payments. One the necessary data is collected we move on to printing. The application sends, in this case, to files that are already laid out in Word all of data entered in the procedure, allowing, therefore, the use of forms normally used by the Marina. For the management delegations, Navis develops an account statement showing the amounts due to the owner of the facility in compliance agreements executed with the provider. A convenient summary printout lists all the active contracts at a certain time for each type, highlighting the agreed amounts and relevant turnovers.

# BERTH OCCUPATION AND TRANSITS #

This module provides a valid support to detect berth occupation and boat movements in the harbor area. The contract situation does not always reflect the effective berth occupation in the tourist port. For example, a mooring contract does not necessarily indicate the continuous occupation of the assigned berth, because for a certain period it could be in the boatyard or cruising. Only a careful survey of user flows allows for a detailed control of the occupational situation of the spaces in the marina. Such graphical mode represents facilities in different colors, depending on their status in time, and allows performing all booking and allocation operations of berths.

#AVAILABILITY #

The dynamic plan of the harbor allows for the identification of the available facilities on the basis of the requested period and the size of the vessel.
In addition to the graphic mode (harbor plan) Navis provides other tools for space assignment: the tableau (as in hotels) or a simple list of availability with an alphanumeric method. The procedure proposes the suitable solution, automatically suggesting the price, obtained on the basis of price lists and from the stay period. With the new release of Navis, the berths available, grouped by class, may be published on the company website. Once the berth is selected, the remaining operations – berth assignment, registration of the customer and his boat, quantification of the amount due, printing of the mooring contract, issue of the invoice, and finally the registration of the payment received – are carried out on average by an operator in three minutes time and without any possibility of error.

# PORT PLAN #

The port plan displays the state of the facilities at any date set by the operator, highlighting the state with different colors in a dynamic and always updated manner. By setting the arrival and departure dates the available berths will be highlighted for the entire period. It is possible to access the history of the berth or the allocation process by clicking on it. The operator can decide which information to highlight through the port plan:

  • Status of facility occupancy;
  • Situation of ownership structures;
  • Berth occupation and absences;
  • Financial status of the mooring contracts;
  • Berths with occupations with no contractual terms.

# CUSTOMERS AND SUPPLIERS #

The customer data sheet summarizes all of the relationships between each customer or vendor with management. In addition to the usual identification data of the subject, this screen allows access to the connected vessel files, their occupation and contracts, transits, the work notes, etc. It is possible to send and publish on the website of the Marina, all the information the operator decides to communicate to his customer via the Internet (quotes, etc.), who can then comfortably read the information from afar. It is possible to obtain a detailed statement for each subject highlighting the respective open contractual and accounting positions and deadlines. One useful feature offered by the application is that of mailing lists: it is possible to combine several subjects into groups of names in order to use them for automated mailings and correspondence, with the Word Mail-Merge printing mode.
